Skippered boat trips from Los Gigantes: private or shared
Without a boating licence, the way to go out to sea in Tenerife is with a skipper. Our charter leaves Los Gigantes harbour with a professional skipper and fuel included: private, for up to 9 people, or by the seat, sharing the trip with other guests.
Private or by the seat
- Private charter. The whole boat for your group, up to 9 people: 3 hours for €600, 6 hours for €1,050 or a full day for €1,300. The price is per boat, not per person.
- Single seats. A shared 3-hour trip at €75 per person, with a minimum of 2 seats per booking. The trip needs 4 people on board: if that is not reached, we let you know and offer you another date or a refund.
These are the prices on the charter's booking page. If they change with the season, the booking page is what counts.
Departure times
The charter leaves at 10:30 and at 13:45. When booking you choose the duration for a private trip, or the number of seats for a shared one; the availability you see is live.
The boat
An 8-metre boat for up to 9 people, with GPS, bimini top, fridge and Bluetooth speakers. The skipper is a professional and fuel is included. Tipping the skipper is optional.
What you will see
From the harbour the coast rises straight up: these are the Los Gigantes cliffs, which give the town its name. Following them north you reach the bay of Masca, at the foot of the gorge, where the beaches of Masca and Carrizales are the anchoring spots for a swim.
This whole stretch lies within the Teno-Rasca special area of conservation, home all year round to short-finned pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. They are wild animals, so no sighting is guaranteed. The skipper plans each day's route around the sea conditions and the length of the trip.
No licence needed
Since 1 October 2026, taking the helm of a rental boat requires a boating licence anywhere in Spain (Royal Decree 1188/2025). On the charter the skipper is at the helm, so no licence is asked of you. If you would rather drive yourself, read which licence you need.
What to bring
- Swimwear, a towel and sun cream.
- A warm layer: it gets cooler at sea, especially on the way back.
- Shoes that can get wet.
Booking and cancellation
You book and pay online, on the charter's page. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before departure, and if the weather does not allow a safe trip, the date is moved or the amount refunded. Please arrive at the harbour 30 minutes early.
